Namo Buddha

Namo Buddha or Takmo Lüjin is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site of Nepal, and one of the three main stupas of kathmanfu valley. Situated about 40 km to the south east of Kathmandu city, the stupa built on the bones and hair of prince Mahasattva, stands on the slopes of the Gandha Malla hill.
According to the jatakas and several sutras, Mahasattva was one of Buddha shkaymun's former incarnations. He was the youngest of the three sons of king Maharatha. One day as the three brothers were walking through the forest, they saw a tigress with the five cubs she had given birth to. She was so hungry she could hardly move. The three princes went away, but Mahasattva decided to go back and started to cut his flesh to give it to the tigress to eat. When his brothers went to look for him they found only his bones and hair. The stupa was built on top of these remains.
Stone with engraved scene of the Buddha offering his body
Walking up the hill from the stupa, one can reach a place where the scene of the Buddha giving his body to the tigress is engraved in stone. According to the oral tradition, this is the actual place where the Buddha gave his body.
Following the ridge to a second summit on the same hill, there is also a small stupa which is said to mark the den of the tigress. There, pilgrims lie down on the ground as if giving their bodies, and hair and pieces of cloth are hung to the branches of the tree for protection.
Statue of the Buddha and tigress near the den of the tigress
The Tibetan name Takmo Lujin derives from the events that took place on the site . Local people call it Namo Buddha . Because the region was infested with tigers, the local people wouldn't call it by its actual name, which contains the word 'tiger', and so, as a way to protect themselves, they got into the habit of calling it “Namo Buddha.”
On the eastern side of the hill is the monastic complex built by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpohe—Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery.

Kathak Dance

Kathak  is one of the eight forms of Indian classical dances, originated from Uttar prades India. This dance form traces its origins to the nomadic bards of ancient northern India, known as Kathaks, or storytellers. Its form today contains traces of temple and ritual dances, and the influence of the bhakti movement. From the 16th century onwards it absorbed certain features of Persian and Central Asian dance which were imported by the royal courts of theMughal era.
The name Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word katha meaning story, and katthaka in Sanskrit means he who tells a story, or to do with stories. The name of the form is properly  katthak, with the geminated dental to show a derived form, but this has since simplified to modern-day कथक kathakkathaa kahe so kathakis a saying many teachers pass on to their pupils, which is generally translated, 's/he who tells a story, is a kathak', but which can also be translated, 'that which tells a story, that is 'Kathak.'
There are three major schools or gharanas of Kathak from which performers today generally draw their lineage: the gharanas of Benares (born in the courts of the Kachwaha Rajput kings, the Nawab of Oudh, and Varanasi respectively), Jaipur and Lucknow ; there is also a less prominent (and later) Raigarh gharana which amalgamated technique from all three preceding gharanas but became famous for its own distinctive compositions.

Save Wildlife

The exotic that Nepal is known for is coming infer threat of traders dealing in body parts of endangered wildlife. It is found that the valuable wildlife is vanishing as ruthless poachers are able to carry on with their activities despite warning from the authorities that action would be taken against them . Since the body parts of wild animals fetch handsome amounts the poaching o such animals and trading of their body parts is continuing unabated.it is high time that extra vigilance was exercised by the concerned authorities to foil the evil design of such poachers and traders. At present although there are provisions to punish the offender it apparently i snot enough and doe snot serve to deter them.wildlife is our pride and heritage. It is our duty to conserve. In the endeavor of protecting and conserving the wildlife it would help in a large measure by raising awareness amongst the people.

Things that you can do with your family to save wildlife
1 Wildlife is also adversely affected by the threat of non-native invasive species. You can reduce invasive species by not releasing captive animals into the wild, pulling invasive plants in your yard, and by not buying or planting non-native plants.

By minimizing and more wisely using herbicides and pesticides we can better control the amount of harmful chemicals and toxins released into environmentally sensitive areas, such as streams and rivers. Most of these chemicals take many years to degrade in nature

3 Recycling and reducing energy can lessen the impact that is felt on the environment. Reducing resources helps the environment, native local wildlife, and saves money in the process.

Getting involved and helping local governments and agencies with funding, donations, land adoptions  and even volunteer work helps in unimaginable ways.

5. Finally, remember to share your own passion about the environment and protecting wildlife with friends, family, and neighbors.

Spiny orb weavers

Spiny orb weavers are the spiders with the prominent spines on their abdomen.Their shell is shaped like a crab shell with spikes. So,these spider species is also known as crab-like orb waevers.Although these are not as large as other orb weavers, their combined color, shape and distinctive web makes them a very recognisable spider.spiny orb weavers are one of the many beneficial spiders, since they prey upon small pests that are present in crops and suburban areas. Their bites are generally harmless to humans and can be a nuisance when they build large webs in place inconvenient for human beings.Despite their formidable appearance, these spiders are not considered dangerous.spiny orb weavers have a broad abdomen that can be white ,orange,or yellow with red marking.A new web is constructed each night to make sure that the structure is secure.typically adult females construct nest from a single thread close by the nest of female. females produce an egg sac with 100 to 260 eggs while facing down near the web.females are 5 to 9 mm long and 10 to 13 mm wide.males are much smaller than females, 2 to 3 mm long and slightly longer than wide.Spiny orbs do not live very long. their lifespan only lasts until reproduction.

History of sudoku

Number puzzles appeared in newspapers in the late 19th century, when French puzzle setters began experimenting with removing numbers from magic squares. Le Siècle, a Paris-based daily, published a partially completed 9×9 magic square with 3×3 sub-squares on November 19, 1892. It was not a Sudoku because it contained double-digit numbers and required arithmetic rather than logic to solve, but it shared key characteristics: each row, column and sub-square added up to the same number.
On July 6, 1895, Le Siècle's rival, La France, refined the puzzle so that it was almost a modern Sudoku. It simplified the 9×9 magic square puzzle so that each row, column and broken dialogues contained only the numbers 1–9, but did not mark the sub-squares. Although they are unmarked, each 3×3 sub-square does indeed comprise the numbers 1–9 and the additional constraint on the broken diagonals leads to only one solution.
These weekly puzzles were a feature of French newspapers such as L'Echo de Paris for about a decade but disappeared about the time of World war.
According to Will Shortz, the modern Sudoku was most likely designed anonymously by Howard Garns, a 74-year-old retired architect and freelance puzzle constructor from Connersville, Indiana, and first published in 1979 by Dell Magazines as Number Place (the earliest known examples of modern Sudoku). Garns's name was always present on the list of contributors in issues of Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games that included Number Place, and was always absent from issues that did not. He died in 1989 before getting a chance to see his creation as a worldwide phenomenon. It is unclear if Garns was familiar with any of the French newspapers listed above.
The puzzle was introduced in Japan by Nikoli in the paper Monthly Nikolist in April 1984 as Sūji wa dokushin ni kagiru , which also can be translated as "the digits must be single" or "the digits are limited to one occurrence." (In Japanese, dokushin means an "unmarried person".) At a later date, the name was abbreviated to Sudoku by Maki kaji taking only the first Kanji of compound words to form a shorter version. In 1986, Nikoli introduced two innovations: the number of givens was restricted to no more than 32, and puzzles became "symmetrical" (meaning the givens were distributed in rotationally symmetrical cells. It is now published in mainstream Japanese periodicals, such as the Asahi shimbun The Times of London began featuring Sudoku in 2004

Legend of Pashupatinath

Pashupatinath Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. It is not known for certain when Pashupatinath Temple was founded. But according to Nepal Mahatmaya and Himvatkhanda, the deity here gained great fame there as Pashupati, the Lord of the Animals. Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or holy symbol of Lord Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this temple, that is also known as 'The Temple of Living Beings'.
There are many legends describing as to how the temple of Lord Pashupatinath came to existence here. Some of them are narrated below:-
The Cow Legend
Legend says that Lord Shiva once took the form of an antelope and sported unknown in the forest on Bagmati river's east bank. The gods later caught up with him, and grabbing him by the horn, forced him to resume his divine form. The broken horn was worshipped as a linga but overtime it was buried and lost. Centuries later an astonished herdsmen found one of his cows showering the earth with milk. Digging deep at the site, he discovered the divine linga of Pashupatinath.
The Linchchhavi Legend
According to Gopalraj Vamsavali, the oldest ever chronicle in Nepal, this temple was built by Supus Padeva, a Linchchhavi King, who according to the stone inscription erected by Jayadeva 11 in the courtyard of Pashupatinath in 753 AD, happened to be the ruler 39 generations before Manadeva (464-505 AD).
The Devalaya Legend
Another chronicle states that Pashupatinath Temple was in the form of Linga shaped Devalaya before Supus Padeva constructed a five storey temple of Pashupatinath in this place. As the time passed, the need for repairing and renovating this temple arose. It is learnt that this temple was reconstructed by a medieval King named Shivadeva (1099-1126 AD). It was renovated by Ananta Malla adding a roof to it. Ref pashupatinath.

Tourism and Economy in pokhara

Pokhara is situated in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara valley, which is a widening of the Seti Gandaki valley that lies in the midland region (Pahad) of the Himalayas. In this region the mountains rise very quickly and within 30 km, the elevation rises from 1,000 m to over 7,500 m. As a result of this sharp rise in altitude the area of Pokhara has one of the highest precipitation rates in the country (3,350 mm/year or 131 inches/year in the valley to 5600 mm/year or 222 inches/year in lumle).
After the annexation of Tibet by china leading to the Indo-china war in 1962, the old trading route to India from Tibet through Pokhara became defunct. Today only few caravans from Mustang arrive in Bagar. In recent decades, Pokhara has become a major tourist destination in South Asia mainly for adventure tourism and the base for the famous Annapurna trek. Thus, a major contribution to the local economy comes from the tourism and hospitality industry. There are two 5-star hotels and approximately 305 other hotels that includes five 3-star, fifteen 2-star and non-star hotels in the city.
Pokhara is quite a modern city, however, many medieval era temples (Barahi temple, Bindhyabasini, Bhadrakali, Sitaldevi, Gita mandir temple, Bhimsen temple) and old newari houses are still a part of the city (Bagar, Bindhyabasini, Bhairab Tole, etc.). The modern commercial city centres are at Chipledhunga (slippery stone, which is still there) and Mahendrapul (recently renamed as Bhimsen Chowk).
The city promotes two major hilltops as its viewpoints to view the city and surrounding panaroma, world peace pagoda built in 1996 across the southern shore of Phewa lake and sarangkot which is located northwest of the city. In February 2004, International Mountain Museum (IMM) was opened for public in Ratopahiro to boost city's tourism attractions. Other museums in the city are Pokhara Regional Museum, an ethnographic museum, Annapurna Natural History Museum which houses preserved specimens of flora and fauna, and contains particularly extensive collection of the butterflies, found in the Western and (ACAP) region of Nepal; and Gurkha Museum featuring history of the Gurkha soldiers.
Since 1990s Pokhara has experienced rapid urbanization and as a result service and industries sectors have increasingly contributed to the local economy overtaking the traditional agriculture. The major contributors to the economy of Pokhara are manufacturing and service sector including tourism; agriculture and the foreign and domestic remittances. Tourism, service sector & manufacturing contributes approximately 58% to the economy, remittances about 20% and the agriculture nearly 16%.

Natural beauty tips

Natural Beauty Tips
Sleeping on your back will prevent many wrinkles and breakouts on your face, and even wrinkles in your cleavage area.
Wearing clothes that are tight make you look heavier. Even a slim girl can bulge over too-tight jeans.
Put on a coat of clear nail polish before a colored polish to keep your nails from discoloring.
Being angry really does take away from your beauty now and will result in more wrinkles later.
Wearing less make-up makes you look younger.
Vitamins and minerals are needed for health and beauty, but more is not always better. Too much Vitamin A or Selenium can cause hair loss. There is nothing beautiful about losing your hair.
If you are unhappy with a hair conditioner, it will still make a great "shaving cream" for your legs in the shower.
When shaving, don't stretch the skin or you could cause ingrown hairs by shaving hair off slightly under the skin.
Drink plenty of water and get eight hours of sleep every day.
Tighten bra straps as they stretch out, or buy a new bra when they can't tighten any further, to keep the bosom looking young and perky.
Instead of shaving over and over, with the hairs coming in darker and thicker each time, try waxing. Waxing to remove hair will result in softer hairs each time and result in permanent hair loss after a few sessions. Aussie Nad's is an all-natural product which is easy to use.
Sleeping on two or three pillows at a time, or putting wedge pillow under your regular pillow will help get rid of dark circles under your eyes.
Exercise while dieting is a must or your skin will be too large (and saggy) for your smaller body. It is much, much tougher to tighten skin after your body shrinks than as you go.
After washing your face, rinse in cold water (fair-skinned people should use cool instead of cold) to close the pores and tighten the facial muscles.
If you are out of quick-dry spray for nails, dip your fingers into a bowl of ice-cold water. (Don't to touch the sides of the bowl.) Your nails will dry very quickly.
Good posture can make you look much slimmer.
Wearing a low heel will give you better posture than wearing flat shoes.
Wearing very high heels too often will give you a masculine, muscular calf instead of a feminine, rounded calf.
Renew thick nail polish by adding a few drops of fingernail polish remover to the bottle.
Make a nail polish bottle not get stuck closed, put a thin coat of vaseline inside the lid.
Clean hair brushes occasionally with dish soap and borax. In a dishpan of very warm water, add 1/2 cup of borax and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Swish the brushes to stir, rinse, and let air dry. Scrub any stubborn spots with a used toothbrush.

korean food

Korean food stands out from other cuisines with the many side dishes (banchan) that are served during meals. The number of side dishes can range anywhere from 2 to 12, but everyday meals feature at least a few. So when you eat at a Korean restaurant, your various side dishes will come to you before your meal in small bowls, and can be anything from vegetables to meat to seafood prepared in any number of ways. Korean dishes are all served at the same time, so there are no separate courses like in Western cuisines.Rice is the backbone of almost every Korean meal. On rare occasions, noodles will replace the rice, but the vast majority of the time, every person eats a bowl of rice with their meal. Typically, each person will also have their own bowl of soup or stew. The side dishes and main dish or dishes, which can be meat, seafood, or tofu are all be served family-style in the middle of the table. Sometimes a large stew will replace the main dish and will be served family-style at the table.Korea is a peninsula, so Koreans eat a lot of seafood although meat has become very popular in the last 50 or so years. The most common spices and sauces used in Korean cuisine are: sesame oil, chili pepper paste (kochujang), chili pepper flakes (kochukaru), soybean paste (daenjang), soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and scallions. As a result, much of Korean cuisine is intensely flavored, savory, and bold.
